A Personal Testimony

I was raised in a Christian family and I gained a very detailed understanding of the Bible at a very young age.  As a teenager I read the entire Bible, and then read it again.  For as long as I can remember, I believed in the Bible.  But it wasn't until I matured spiritually that I realized something was missing in my life.  I wasn't following Christ's teachings in my life, because in my heart I didn't love Jesus like I should.  I had faith that the Bible was true and that Jesus really died to take the punishment for my sins, and that God rose him from the dead and exalted him as king over all.  And I believe that we're justified by faith in Jesus, because none of us are anywhere near good enough to deserve eternal life on our own, no matter how many good works we do.  But it took me awhile to realize that being a Christian is about more than just accepting Jesus as our personal savior.  Being a Christian means accepting Jesus as our Lord.  A Lord is someone who's teachings and commandments you follow.  Jesus said, "If you love me, you will keep my commandments" (John 14:15).  So in order to be a better Christian I tried to repent and change my ways, and get rid of sinful habits and live a holier life. It was hard.  Actually, it was impossible because my heart was still far from God.  Once I changed my heart (with God's help), my actions and habits changed as a result.

Jesus preached a message of repentance.  Everywhere he went his message was the same - "Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand!" (Matthew 3:2).  Repentance is a change in one's actions - an act of turning away from sin and turning to God.  But I learned that if you try to change your actions and kick sinful habits without changing your heart, you'll get nowhere.  True repentance is a change in actions and a change in heart.  If we really have faith in Jesus and we really believe in the awesome sacrifice he made for us, then we will want him to be our Lord, and we will want to follow his teachings and commandments.  Once we have that desire in our hearts, our actions will reflect that - our lives will bear the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, self-control, meekness, and temperance - see Galatians 5:22-23) and we will live good lives that are pleasing to God.  Just living a good life won't save us, because everyone has sinned and needs to accept Christ's sacrifice in receive forgiveness, and because you'd have to be perfect in order to deserve eternal life, and nobody's perfect.  It's not our good works that save us, but our faith in Jesus, and that faith produces a desire to do good works, so our good works reflect the faith we have.  As the Bible says in Habakkuk 2:4 - "The righteous shall live by faith."

Our Mission Statement

At Plasma Productions, we believe in the existence of One God - the Creator and Preserver of the heavens and earth (Deuteronomy 6:4, Nehemiah 9:6). He is absolutely sovereign over all, eternal, incorruptible, and "the only true God" ( John 17:3, I Timothy 1:17). His name is YHWH (Yahweh) and he is "merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth" (Exodus 34:6). He a God of both love and judgment. He deserves our complete undivided devotion. He commands monotheism and condemns polytheism. "Hear, O Israel: the Lordour God is one Lord: and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might" (Deuteronomy 6:4 and 5).

We believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the promised seed of Genesis 3:15, the mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5) and the "image of God" in human form (2 Corinthians 4:4).  He is the man whose coming all the prophets foretold (Acts 3:18,21). He is the "prophet" who Moses declared would come (Deuteronomy 18:15-19). He is the descendant of David, and God's only born Son (Romans 1:3). Jesus the Christ was anointed to be the High Priest and King. He died on a cross as the sacrifice for man's sin. God raised him from the dead and set him at His own right hand in the heavenliness. He will remain there until he returns as the king of kings who will rule the world from the throne of his ancestor David.  The resurrection of Jesus is the undeniable proof that he is the Son of God (Romans 1:1-5). He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no man comes to the Father but by him (John 14:6).

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the operational presence and power of God given to obedient disciples for the purpose of teaching, bringing to remembrance, testifying of Christ, guiding, showing things to come, strengthening, and glorifying God. It will lead the faithful ones into eternal life in the age to come (John 14-16).

We believe that the Bible - consisting of the Hebrew and Greek Scriptures - is the inspired and authoritative revelation of God. Within it are all things that pertain to life and godliness. Through humility, meekness, and the fear of God, we seek to understand the Scriptures (II Timothy 3:16; II Timothy 2:15).  All God-inspired Scriptures are perfect and contain no contradictions.

We believe that the Kingdom of God is the unifying theme prevalent throughout the Scriptures. It serves to draw the Bible's diverse parts together into a complete whole. Jesus the Messiah, the prophets, and apostles all spoke regarding this coming Kingdom. When Christ returns, he will rule over the entire earth as the king of kings, with his throne located in Jerusalem. His reign will be righteous, equitable, and absolute. This Kingdom is what Jesus had in mind when he preached the gospel saying "Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand." (Matthew 9:35; Mark 1:14-15; Acts 1:3; 8:12; 19:8; 20:24 and 24; 28:23, 31; Matthew 24:14).

We believe that Jesus fulfilled the Old Covenant (the Law revealed to Moses at Mount Sinai) and thereby brought it to a close (Matthew 5:17-20; Romans 10:4). We believe that we are free from the Law of Moses but it is our responsibility to follow the teachings and commands of Jesus Christ as recorded in the New Testament (Hebrews 8:7-13; 10:15-39).

We believe that the devil exists and is trying to lure mankind away from the truth.  In this age, Satan must be steadfastly resisted (I Peter 5:8 and 9), but at the end of Christ's thousand year reign over the Earth, Satan will be cast into the Lake of Fire and destroyed forever (Revelation 20:7-10, Ezekiel 28).

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Son of God, and the only one resurrected from death unto immortality. He alone has ascended into heaven and is at God's right hand until his enemies are made his footstool.  The dead are dead until the time of the resurrection (Psalm 110, I Corinthians 15, I Thessalonians 4:13-18) when they will return to life and be judged - some unto eternal life in paradise, some unto death in the lake of fire.  Because everyone has sinned, no one can be good enough to deserve eternal life.  We believe that eternal life comes only through accepting and following Jesus as Lord.  Jesus is not just another prophet.  He is the savior of the world and the perfect manifestation of God in human form.  Throughout history, there have been many religious leaders, but Jesus is the only one who bore the punishment for our sins.  This is why we follow him.

We believe that mass media has an extreme impact on our culture, but all too often the mainstream media promotes sinful lifestyles.  We aim to provide an alternative media that promotes the gospel message.  Jesus commanded his disciples to, "Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to all creation" (Mark 16:15).  At Plasma Productions, our mission is to carry out this command through the powerful medium of digital video.
